My friend and I were approached by Hyper Japan to organise a kimono fashion show on 23 July. However we need a hair stylist and makeup artist! Would anyone be interested in helping me out?  I can't pay you but I will be able to get you free entry to the Hyper Japan event for the whole weekend (22-24 July).

A friend of mine in Japan recently did some volunteering work for a group called Peace boat. http://kimonomagic.blogspot.com/2011/05/one-day-in-ishinomaki.html Which got me and a friend in UK thinking?  Maybe we should do some volunteering in Japan?  However we can only do this if each of us can raise £600-£700 which will cover the flights, food and clothing we will need to get there.  We are personally going to put in £500 ourselves to cover the orientation week which we need to do to make sure we are prepared mentally. Would anyone be interested in helping me raise this amount?

It is the final week before I will be attending my first ever convention and I'm excited! So I am busy making sure I have all the kanzashi are packaged and hairbands completed. In addition, I have roped my kimono friends into running a kimono dressing photoshoot as well because this would be an ideal event to encourage and promote the wonders of kimono.  We are always short on kimono de jack uk attendees so lets hope we can find some newbies.
